Hard Rock Cafe, Manchester 07/02/15

Now, this a restaurant everyone has heard of! The Hard Rock Cafe - this chain of American restaurants have been around since 1971. Currently, there are 191 Hard Rock locations in 59 countries including 145 cafes, 21 hotels and 10 casinos. I love the atmosphere in these restaurants, the cocktails are so good. We decided to eat here before going to watch Peter Kay in Manchester as it was near the arena. As always, it was very busy and full of people eating and drinking with loud music playing and memorabilia on all the walls. We were starving and wanted a really good meal, we were not disappointed!

We had to wait about 30 mins for a table so we decided to get a drink at the bar whilst we waited.A cocktail off course! Once we were eventually sat down, the service was brilliant - our waitress was very attentive and on the ball. Our orders were taken within 10 minutes of being sat down, which was impressive as it was very busy. I couldn't complain about the service at all.

We decided to go for starters as we were so hungry.

I can't remember exactly how much they were and the prices aren't on the menu online but I think they were roughly £10-£11 and OH MY GOD - they were huge, they were the biggest plate of Nachos I have ever seen. They looked very pretty on the plate - all the different colours blended in well and it looked very appetising. They had green and red peppers, jalapeƱos, sour cream and cheese on them and they came with salsa and guacamole on the side. I couldn't believe how big they were - we even had to get a doggy bag to take the rest back with us! But, they were delicious. The tortilla crisps were perfectly fresh and crispy it all went so well together - I don't like jalapeƱos so I gave them to Tom, but he seemed to enjoy them! A very good starter - it could be shared between 6 people and probably still have left overs!

I was at the Hard Rock Cafe - I had to have the most obvious choice for my main course!

The Legendary Burger - topped with smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, golden fried onion ring, crisp lettuce and vine ripened tomato.

We also ordered a side of the Onion Ring Stack.

Again, unfortunately I can't remember how much the burger was but roughly between £12-£15 and the onion ring stack was about £5. But, WOW again huge portions! Once again we had to get a doggy bag for the leftover burger and onion rings. The burger was presented nicely on the plate, I liked how the chips came in a silver cup on the side. The burger itself was cooked very good, pink in the middle but crispy and chargrilled on the outside, the bacon was typical American-style bacon crispy and delicious and the cheese was melted perfectly. Such a good meal, and I love my burgers! The onion rings were the perfect consistency of a crispy outer shell and soft tangy onions in the middle. The chips again, were yummy. Crispy and fluffy - how chips should be! I feel for the price, it was very good as it actually lasted for two meals!

The Hard Rock Cafe isn't cheap, its very much a novelty restaurant and some may think its overrated but I did really enjoy it, the food and drinks are of a high quality and the portion sizes almost make the prices worth while and the food all tastes very good, I loved all of this meal and both of us want to go back to The Hard Rock Cafe!
