The Bell, Alderminster 12/12/2011

I will be starting this food blog from 2012 but I thought I would mention an amazing desert I had at the Bell in Alderminster, just outside Stratford-upon-Avon.

I went with a friend: Jayne before Christmas as she is best friends with the chef he bought out an amazing desert for us!
This included:
Creme Brûlée
Flapjack
Sticky Toffee Pudding
Tiramisu
Fruit Mouse
Butterscotch Ice Cream

All dusted with pink glitter!!

As you can see by the picture, it was a massive desert for just two of us. We managed to eat our way through it though! The creme brûlée was delicious, hard on the top but soft once you've put your spoon through the hard outer layer. The flapjack was warm, which was a lovely touch as flapjack is usually served cold, it is also unusual to have flapjack at a restaurant as a desert- however it was gorgeous, really sticky and gooey but with a hard texture as you bit into it. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing, was hot with a lots of sauce on it, which is always a bonus! The mixture was a perfect constancy and was really moist! Definitely my favourite desert on the whole plate! The tiramisu I wasn't too keen on but I don't like coffee, however I gave it a try and it was nice but just not for me so Jayne ate all of that one!! The fruit mouse with the physalis fruit on top was really refreshing, it had a lovely taste of lemon and was a really good desert to eat after a meal to cleanse the pallet. There wasn't enough of that mouse if you ask me! The butterscoth ice cream was very tasty, butterscotch is one of my favourite flavours so I really enjoyed that! Overall this desert was amazing for the price of £8.50! However being friends with a chef has it benefits because I think we got slightly more than usual ha ha!!!
