Five Guys, Solihull

This is one I was very excited about! I have heard SO much hype and excitement about this place and the food looks delicious, I had been dying to try it for months and this was the day! Five Guys has been open in America since 1986 and finally in 2013, they opened the first one in Covent Garden, London and eventually last year one opened in Solihull - its become so popular and the franchise is huge! There are over 1,000 locations nationwide and over 1,500 units in development.

They pride themselves on their fresh produce and products using 100% beef and real-potato cut skin-on fries.

  • There are over 250,000 possible ways to order a burger at Five Guys.
  • There are no freezers in Five Guys locations, just coolers. Nothing is ever frozen.
  • They use peanut oil to cook their fries

The inside is so funky, fresh and bright. It's set out all red and white and similar to an American Diner with booth seats, drinks machines and memorabilia on the walls. Its got such a cool atmosphere and I loved it as soon as I walked in.

Well, we all know how much I love burgers so this I was SO excited for. Its definitely not the cheapest menu, as its fast food - I did expect it to be cheaper but I guess the prices are that because they use all fresh ingredients and produce, which is a bonus.

The drinks machine is amazing - they have everything! They offer 127 different flavours.

Every flavour of Coke,Sprite and Fanta you could imagine as well as different fruity sodas, non-fizzy drinks, ice tea, sugar-free, powerade, Dr Pepper and many more!

I loved this, you can go and select your own drink and keep refilling and trying different drinks!

The drinks start from £2.50 - again not cheap but for the variety its understandable and the regular sized cup is still huge!

The Burger choice is insane - 250,000 ways to have it. How did they expect me to decide?! You can have a single or a double burger, with the choice of 11 different toppings, 4 different sauces and you can even add extras such as, without a bun or extra cheese etc. They have something for everyone - even if you don't fancy a burger they offer Hot Dogs or Sandwiches.

They even do two different types of fries: Normal or Cajun Spiced and they come in Little. Regular or Large! Tip - if theres two of you, share a regular sized fries as they are huge! The large is for a family of 4.

Double Bacon Cheeseburger with Fried Onions & Regular Fries

The burgers start from £6.75 and get more expensive depending on the size etc. The toppings and sauces are all free which I think is a very good thing.

It was delicious! The burger was perfectly cooked and so juicy. I could tell it was made from 100% beef, it had a very fresh taste. The cheese was smothered all over the patties and then topped with crispy caramelised onions. Amazing. The fries were also very good, there was more than enough for the two of us and they were the perfect combination of crispy and fluffy, with the skin on giving it extra flavour. You can taste a hint of the peanut oil too which is yummy.

Overall, I  loved Five Guys - probably one of the best burgers I've ever had, slightly overpriced but delicious in everyday. Love, love, love!
