This next restaurant visit was to Leamington, somewhere I don't go very often but I walked past this restaurant whilst shopping and it looked so pretty and the menu sounded so good, the following week I dragged Jayne along with me to go! The outside has all greenery on the walls and it looks so Italian! The inside is just as pretty, fairy lights all over the walls and the ceiling, with real trees throughout the place, gorgeous murals on the walls and in the middle of the restaurant they have a display of all fresh fruit, fish and vegetables which I think looks so nice and shows how fresh the food is.
And the food definitely didn't fail to disappoint either. The menu had SO much choice, all of which sounded so nice, it was so hard to decide what to have! We decided not to have starters, the mains were amazing. It took me ages to decide but in the end I went for:
Pollo Voldostana:
Traditionally from the villages near Mont Blanc. flattened
breast of chicken in fresh breadcrumbs topped with ham,
tomato & Fontina cheese.
As you can see from the picture, the presentation was perfect! Top class and it was definitely a big enough portion for only £13.95-which is very reasonably priced. AND the taste-wow! It tasted amazing, the chicken wasn't dry at all and the ham and cheese on top wasn't too over powering but gave the chicken a lovely taste as chicken can be quite bland sometimes, but the ham, cheese and tomato sauce made it so tasty. The chargrilled pepper that came on the side of the dish was a nice touch too, it tasted incredibly fresh and sweet. The whole dish tasted so fresh, it tasted like authentic Italian food! Over all, a 10/10 dish which was amazing, presented perfectly and tasted gorgeous! I ate every last bite and would choose this again and again.
The only let down is that the dishes don't come with any side dishes but they are big enough portions to not have any sides but we decided to have some as they sounded yummy.
We went for:
Petit Pois with Caramelised Onions & Bacon
And another side that was actually on the starters menu but it sounded too yummy so we had to have it as a side:
Melanzana ParmiGiana:
Baked layers of aubergine & parmesan in a rich tomato sauce topped with Campania buffalo mozzarella cheese
As you can see, both sides were big enough! The peas were SO yummy, I understand peas are peas but these tasted so good with the onions and bacon in, gave them that extra touch and made them so tasty, I could eat peas with everything if they tasted like that! Also, the aubergine side was amazing, the sauce it came in was so rich, tomatoey but sweet and the aubergine was cooked perfectly, aubergine is my favourite vegetable and it's horrible when it's over cooked! This was a perfect side and went so well with my main meal! The flatbread it was served with made the presentation look exceptional and tasted really good too!
Such a perfect meal and for only just under £20 each- it was worth every penny and I would 100% go back again and again!
