Dubai 2014

For my holiday this year I decided to go on holiday to Dubai, I went with Sam, Laura, Dan and Oliver. We had never been before, therefore we knew we had to go. We found a gorgeous hotel; Mövenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel. It was a 5 star, very luxury hotel. The pool was on the 6th floor which was very unusual but it was a big enough pool and there was always a sunbed free.

It was SO hot- over 40 degrees every day, I couldn't quite believe how hot it was! Our hotel didn't have a beach but luckily there was a sister hotel at the Atlantis and we could go there for free every day and our all inclusive worked there, bonus! The view from this place was insane! It had an infinity pool, a beach and a bar, what more could you need? Just look at that view… #perfection

We spend most of our days here chilling, as we had the best of both worlds with a pool and a beach. I had to pose by that amazing view really didn't I? Especially as I'm wearing my beautiful Triangl bikini!
These bikinis truly are stunning- they fit so well and they are a very long-lasting material. They aren't cheap but they are worth the money.

I went for the pink one, as pink is my favourite colour! They come beautifully packaged and are worth every penny. You should definitely go buy one!

With it being all inclusive, I obviously ate looooots of food! The first night we went out to a Thai restaurant nearby.
The picture quality isn't great because the restaurant was so dark but I had Duck Pad Thai and it was b.e.a.utiful! It wasn't a very big portion and was pretty expensive but thats Dubai for you- alcohol and food are very expensive, if you are planning to go on holiday there I would suggest you try and get all inclusive or at least half board because Dubai is very expensive! However, this meal was yummy- the duck was cooked perfectly. It is just a noodle dish with many different flavours but with the duck it makes it taste even better! Very beautiful restaurant and good food but a meal out will cost you between £20-30.

After the meal we decided to go to The Dubai Marina Yacht Club. A stunning yacht club overlooking the marina with all the boats going past. This was definitely a perfect opportunity for a kodak moment...

Our all inclusive included lunch, not just any buffet lunch, no- waiter service lunch served to you by the pool! Amazing. You do get treated like royalty in Dubai, they are so friendly and you feel very safe. The taxis are so cheap too- most journeys cost between £4-10. They do drive like nutcases though!

For lunch I tried different things each day, this particular day I had Prawn Skewer Caesar Salad. I had never tried prawns in a caesar salad before so wasn't quite sure how it would be but I needn't to worry, it was delicious!

The presentation was very good for a hotel and the food matched. Hotel food is known for not being the best and usually tastes very mass produced but this hotel made food taste actually like fresh ingredients. As you can see, a pretty big portion for lunch time too and you got a slice of garlic ciabatta too. Perfect lunch to have in the hot weather, light and fresh.

Another night near the beginning of the holiday we went to a Bar in Jeremiah Beach; Bar 360 and this was was insane!!

A bar right in the middle of the sea that lights up! Its just like being in Birmingham…

We went here one night for drinks before heading to Mahiki, a club in Dubai. Its been voted one of the best bars in the world and you can totally see why. It's veryyyy expensive, as you would expect from Dubai. This is where I tried a shot I had never tried before:

Cafe Petron
Its a coffee based tequila. Sounds disgusting but it was actually very nice and a good way to get a quick burst of energy to keep you going all night!

We could eat at a different restaurant at the hotel each night, they had: Italian, Chinese, Indian, Malaysian, Moroccan as well as the normal buffet restaurant. One particular night we went to the Italian restaurant.
Again, poor picture quality because the restaurant was so dark but this was seabass served on a salt base with mushrooms and rocket. It was served on a slate plate which was a lovely touch but the food was very strange… the seabass was cooked very well and tasted lovely but the salt base it came on was horrible, it was really hard and this sounds silly but, it just tasted like salt! I couldn't taste any other ingredients in it, therefore it was very difficult to eat especially as it was solid too! It almost broke my teeth! Over all, not a great dish and I ended up leaving the majority of it. This was the worst meal whilst being in Dubai.

One day we went on a boat party- free drink for 5 hours. Lets just say it got very messy!

But was great fun and we had lovely views, lots of fun and LOTS of sambuca

The lunches at the sister beach hotel were delicious too, we had a different menu here to the menu at or hotel so it was nice to be able to have a change if we fancied it.

This wasn't all for me I promise!
We had salads, chips, burgers and they all tasted SO good! Not one dish from the menu wasn't nice and the fact we could eat by the pool relaxing was a bonus.

The Burj Al Arab

The picture above is the only 7* hotel in the world and its in Dubai: The Burj Al Arab. It's stunning but you can't even get close to it unless you are a member or own a Ferrari!

One of the nights we decided to go to the Chinese restaurant in the hotel. It was so nice inside, it didn't feel like you were inside a hotel at all! The menu was so good too and because we were all inclusive we could order whatever we wanted from the menu and as much of it as we wanted- 30 dishes if we wanted to!! We decided to get a few dishes and share them between us I didn't take a picture of each individual dish because to be honest you would've been bored! But here are some of what we had:

Spring Rolls

Prawn Toasts

Crispy Duck

Beef with Pineapple Salsa and Chilli Sauce
It was all presented really nicely; it looked lovely on the plates and the taste was just as good, it all tasted very fresh and flavoursome.

We went to the waterpark one day; it was so much fun and huuuuuge! We were there all day and we still only managed to do half the water park! This picture was the huge slide there- it was a vertical drop… pretty scary! But probably one of the best days from the holiday!

Yes, more food! I know, I know. I'm obsessed! This time we decided to have a dessert whilst sat by the pool and OH MY GOD this was delicious.

I can't even describe to you how good it was, a chocolate brownie with chocolate brownie bits and chocolatey goodness with chocolatey sauce and a chocolate biscuit. Chocolate heaven!!

One night we decided to try the Indian restaurant on the hotel. It was a sort of buffet, they took your order at the table and then you went up to the station to get the starters. I'm not usually a fan of Indian but this was very yummy, I had all different types of starters.

I can't even remember what they all were but they were delicious. I then had a prawn curry afterwards. Very good and nothing like usual hotel food.

The penultimate day we went to the Dubai Mall- the biggest mall in the world. Its insane, so many shops and restaurants. We fancies a pit stop so stopped at The Cheesecake Factory. Their menu is masssssive! I decided to have a sandwich then a cheesecake, thinking a sandwich won't fill me up too much!

Boy, was I wrong! The sandwich was huuuuuge. I had a club sandwich and WOW it was so yummy. I only managed half of it.

And THEN...

I didn't really have room for dessert but as I was at the cheesecake factory I had to try one!
I went for the OREO Dream Extreme Cheesecake.

WOW! This cheesecake was huuuuge! It was so chocolatey, gooey and delicious! A chocoholics heaven.

The last day we were very touristy and decided to go the Burj Kalifa- the tallest building in the world!

Then we went back to the pool to chill, I had a dessert from the menu and it was to die for!

Lemon meringue with raspberries- delllllicious!

Such an amazing holiday, Dubai is a beautiful place and I would recommend it to anyone- just beware of the heat!!
