Bamboodle, Stratford 11/09/13

I'm still behind writing my restaurant blogs, so I'm trying to catch up. This particular restaurant; BamboodleI went to with Jayne & Sam. I had found it online and the menu looked so good and as it's only down the road in Stratford we thought we should definitely give it a try!
The restaurant itself is very small inside but the decorations and interior is really modern and bright, at the weekend they turn it into a bar so its got a very young feel. It was very busy for a Wednesday night, good job we booked! The menu is very simple with not loads of options which is good, I like simple menus with less choice especially when every choice sounds SO tasty!

We decided to have 4 starters to share between us, it was so difficult to decide what to have as each starter sounded so good but eventually we went for:

Sweet & Sour King Prawns with Dipping Sauce
£9.50

Shredded Duck Rice Paper Rolls with Plum Sauce
£5.50

Crispy Japanese Crumb Chicken with Sweet Chilli Dipping Sauce
£5.00

Chicken Yuk Sung
£4.50

As you can see, each starter is a very reasonable size, I did order the sticky ribs but they had sold out! But the king prawns that we decided to have instead were SO delicious and the presentation was brilliant too, it looked so pretty! The sauce they were in was so sweet but had a slight kick, the prawns were cooked perfectly and this was such a good starter, it definitely isn't a cheap starter at £9.50 but it was worth every penny, I could quite easily have a plate full of those prawns! That was a 10/10-amazing starter.

The shredded duck was a starter that had been recommended a lot on Trip Advisor which is why we decided to try it- again the presentation was very good and the taste was even better. It was shredded duck inside rice paper and served with plum sauce, it was delicious and very reasonably priced. Another 10/10 starter!

The crispy chicken with sweet chilli sauce presentation again was top class and the chicken was SO tasty, the chicken was breadcrumbed with panko breadcrumbs-my favourite. They make it extra crispy and extra tasty-the chicken wasn't dry at all either and the sauce it came with was so tasty too. Another 10/10 starter!

Lastly was the yuk sung-I'm not usually a massive yuk sung fan but this was very different, the presentation was so good, the filling was already laid out on the separate lettuce leaves, where normal yuk sung usually has to be made up by yourself this was already done and it was easier to eat and it was such good value for £4.50-it was also incredibly tasty and I would have it again, I actually preferred it to normal yuk sung. Another 10/10 starter.

Every starter was perfect, I couldn't fault anything, Each one was as yummy as the last and I was very impressed, the service was very good too, friendly waiter and waitresses and they were very efficient with getting us drinks and extra sauces etc. So far, so good!

As we had loads of starters we decided to go for one big main course to share, we went for the:

Half Crispy Duck
£15.00

We all love this meal and were hoping this one wasn't going to disappoint-which it certainly didn't! For £15.00 we got 6 pancakes each-which is so good! Thats cheaper than most Chinese takeaways! And this one was SO yummy, the duck was cooked perfectly and it all went together so well, the only thing was there wasn't enough hoi sin sauce and as we tried asking for more the staff were very busy so it did take a while to get their attention for more but that is only a slight very, small criticism and they did eventually get us more sauce and the whole meal was SO yummy! 10/10 meal again, no complaints!

For around £17 each it was incredible good value, it was cheaper than a lot of Chinese restaurants and this was probably better than most restaurants around the area. I would go back again and again!
