The White Swan, Henley-in-Arden 28/12/2012

Me and mum decided to go for some lunch but couldn't decide where to go for ages. We eventually decided to try The White Swan in Henley as we live literally next door to it and mum hadn't ever tried it. The decor inside is gorgeous, really bright but lovely. The service is reasonable as well, you have to order your drinks and food at the bar which is a slight let down for me but it's very common so I can let it go. The lunch menu hasn't got a lot of choice but has enough for a lunch time with a wide range of different lunches from hot meals to the tapas boards.

The tapas boards they do look so good and they do a meat one, a fish one, a mixed one with fish and meat and an English board which includes fish and chips! They are really good prices as well. For a small board (for one) they are between £5-£7 and for a bigger one (for two) it's around £8-£10. Which I feel is extremely good value.

We decided to go for the mixed board which included, tapas style bites of Serrano ham, Salami, Chorizo, Artichokes, Anchovies, Smoked trout, Smoked Mackerel, Smoked Salmon and White Bait Olives, Manchego cheese, Bread and a selection of oils. We also ordered a bowl of chips to go with it as well. We definitely ordered too much food!
As you can see there is a lot of food on the board! You get a lot of different meats and fish on the board. The mackrel was one of my favourites and the cold meats were very fresh and yummy. We did have to ask for a few more bits of bread but this wasn't an issue at all. Very good service and the food was excellent, really tasty and brilliant value at £15 for both of us and we both left feeling full!
