Meadow Farm, Redditch 6/08/2012

Me and my friend Amy met up at Meadow Farm in Redditch which is a 2 for 1 restaurant near where she lives as she was going away for a long time travelling so we decided to have some dinner out not that I need an excuse to eat out! 2 for 1 restaurants are usually pretty basic and cheap but have pretty good food and you can't really complain when your getting one of the meals free!
They have a massive menu with a lot of choice including burgers, fish and chips, curry, pasta... Basically anything you fancy at very cheap prices. The most expensive main on the whole menu is £12.75 for a Sirloin steak. They also have an option on the menu for 'Mighty Meals' which are bigger portion size meals. I decided to go for one of these meals at £11.75.
BBQ Chicken Melt-two chicken breasts stacked with bacon and BBQ sauce topped with cheese served with chips and salad.
As you can see the portion sizes are massive and I couldn't finish it all and for £11.75 you definitely get value for money! The chicken was quite dry however but the BBQ sauce, bacon and cheese hid this slight problem very well and made the dish actually rather tasty. The chips were very good, crunchy on the outside but soft & fluffy on the inside. The salad was very poor, the lettuce looked very off and not fresh at all! Over all I would give this meal 6/10 but for only £15 for the two of us I didn't really mind but the service wasn't great either as they were very busy! A good restaurant if there's a big group of you and you want a cheap meal but not a place for a romantic meal for 2!
