The Boot, Studley 16/05/2012

The Boot in Studley is another favourite of mine .. me & my mum decided to stop by after a shopping trip. It wasn't very busy in there as we got there after 3pm. We sat down, looked at the menu and decided to have starters & mains. We went for the share it option ...

Fish Mezze;
King Prawns sautéed in garlic, chilli & parsley butter, deep-fried calamari, crab & crayfish cocktail, taramasalata, crispy tortillas and tartare sauce.
This was a gorgeous starter! The King Prawns were cooked perfectly and the sauce they were in was so good, wasn't too spicy but had a good kick, the shells make it fussy and messy but they are worth it! The crispy calamari wasn't chewy at all as calamari usually can be and the batter was light and fluffy, the crab & crayfish cocktail was my favourite as it was unusual but tasted beautiful, it was the perfect consistency, definitely my favourite! The crispy tortillas were a good added touch to the fish mezze and worked well with the crab & crayfish cocktail. It wasn't cheap for £11.95 but as its to share that isn't too bad.

Marinated Chicken Supreme with Sticky Lemon Honey & Chilli Sauce, Chips & Dressed Roquette was what I had for my main course. This was GORGEOUS! The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was sweet yet had a slight tangy kick to it and complimented with the chicken so well, the chips were crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside, just how chips should be. Over all this was a lovely main and very reasonable for £8.95!
