Pizza Express, Bromsgrove 21/04/15

Another good old favourite of mine, Pizza Express but this time the Bromsgrove one. Its situated right in the city centre of Bromsgrove and the perfect place to go for a weeknight meal, if you've got a Taste Card they offer 2for1 on most main courses and starters or they always have vouchers on Voucher Cloud that include 20% off etc. It makes the meal incredibly cheap as it isn't an overly expensive restaurant anyway. I have been to the Pizza Express in Solihull and Stratford but not tried the one the Bromsgrove before.

The restaurant was about 40% busy, it was a Tuesday evening so what can you expect?! I'm trying to eat pretty healthily at the moment and Pizza Express offer a healthy menu, they do the pastas and pizzas in healthy options, which is good as you can still have the tasty food the same as everyone else but make it healthy if you wish.

The starter we went for wasn't particularly healthy but we shared it and it tastes so good!

Dough Balls
£6.95

You get 8 Dough Balls with the sharing starter, which is a pretty generous amount. They are served with a Garlic Butter. They are usually very good but they were a little bit burnt on the outside which ruined it slightly and they were covered in Parmesan cheese - but they was far too much Parmesan on it - it was too overpowering. The Dough Balls were still tasty, they weren't too doughy or heavy but they had a nice flavour and with the Garlic Butter they were so yummy. They just need a bigger pot of the butter - but I love my sauces and butters!

Bosco - Warm garlic mushrooms, light mozzarella, avocado, roasted tomatoes, spinach, rocket, balsamic syrup, honey & mustard dressing and warm dough sticks

£9.95 - add warm chicken for £1.55

This is delicious! Perfect for when you are trying to eat healthy and cut down on Carbs - the salad is served warm too which makes it feel more like a main meal. It was also incredibly filling and a very generous portion size for the price. I also liked the fact you could add chicken to it as well, as I love my meat! The garlic mushrooms were so tasty, they weren't too garlicky either which was good, the different salad components went very well together and it all had such a good flavour. The honey and mustard sauce on the side was so yummy, it was the perfect blend of tangy and sweet and went very well with the salad. The warm breadsticks helped to bring the whole dish together and they were cooked very well. This was a lovely main meal, I didn't even miss the unhealthy stuff, when food tastes this good you don't need it! I loved it!

Over all, another very good meal at Pizza Express - the service was good throughout, the food was tasty and healthy, the Dough Balls needed to be slightly less cooked though but for £25 for two of us - I can't complain! Very good value and good portion sizes.
